Simmons Mattresses is one of the world's largest mattress manufacturers. The company started over 138 years ago in Wisconsin in 1870 and has since become a major brand name with 18 factories in the United States and Puerto Rico.

While Simmons sells hundreds of mattresses, the bulk of their products can be categorized into 5 major product lines. For a brief overview of each model line, keep reading.

The Beautyrest Sleep System

The Beautyrest line of Simmons mattresses was made infamous by the company's advertisement which featured a bowling ball dropping on a mattress without disturbing the pins on the other side. It's that kind of mattress technology that allows a couple to sleep without disturbing one another.

Essentially, the Beatyrest mattress creates isolated sleep regions by using hundreds of individual and independent PocketCoil springs. When you move in your sleep, that movement is isolated to the individual coils. The Beautyrest mattress comes in almost twenty different models and sizes, including a PillowTop option.

The Beautyrest Black System

Simmons Mattresses created the Beautyrest Black line in response to a significant customer demand for a Simmons luxury level mattress. Their ultimate model mattress has a patented triple coil design that fits three springs into each individual coil system. It also features that they regard as other luxury touches, like fancy fabrics and added height.

Most Simmons Mattresses Beautyrest Black models have support layers made of natural latex and memory foam topped by other layers made from a blend of silk, alpaca and natural wool.

Simmons Natural Care

The Simmons Natural Care mattress collection is designed to both help the environment and ensure you get a good night's sleep. The mattresses are eco-friendly, hypoallergenic and sustainable, meaning the expectation is that they are good for you and the earth.

The Natural Care Simmons mattresses are made using all natural products, like latex derived from rubber tree sap or organic cotton, and also designed to be biodegradable. That means they shouldn't be filling up a nearby landfill hundreds of years from now.

Simmons Comfor-Pedic

The Comfor-Pedic line of mattresses are made from a space-age memory foam that's very similar to the popular Tempur-pedic mattresses. Basically, the foam automatically adjusts to your body, including when you move. It also has a built-in temperature control and promises to last longer than most traditional mattresses.

There are five models in the Simmons' Comfor-Pedic line, including the company's new Nuvo sleep system line which allows you to customize your own mattress and sleep system.

Simmons Kids

The Kids' collection of Simmons mattresses are ergonomically designed for a child, engineered to provide the good support and structure for growing bodies. Remember, undisturbed and comfortable sleep is crucial for a child's development, as is a sleep surface that's supportive and structurally correct.

Regardless of the mattress you select, you should make it a high priority to provide your children not only a comfortable sleep (so they can function well each day) but also one that is helpful to their more delicate body structures.

Choose the Best Health Plans For Your Family

Health insurance concerns almost everybody in the US these days. You may get a health plan from an employer, but probably have some options to choose from, and that choice can be confusing. Millions of Americans do not get health insurance at work, and they need to find coverage on the individual health plan market. Finding an affordable and quality medical plan is even more complex than choosing a group benefit from work!

The best choice for you, and your family, will depend upon many things. For one thing, available policies vary by local area or zip code. Your age, health status, budget and expectations will also affect your choice.

Younger families, without any severe health problems, will probably have an easy time finding affordable coverage. Older Americans, who are not quite old enough for Medicare, will have a harder time. And of course, those who already have a serious health issue will have a harder time finding a low cost medical policy, if they can find a private plan that accepts them at all!

If you do get declined for individual health insurance, know that every state has a high risk plan to cover people like you! You should find a qualified insurance agent or your state insurance commission in order to find out what the next step is in your state.

If you get accepted, but a health condition causes a rate increase that really strains your budget, consider raising the deductible. The premium difference between a $500 deductible and a $2500 deductible can be hundreds of dollars every month. When faced with high costs of medical coverage, people need to purchase a policy to save them financial collapse, and not to cover every small expense.

PPO plans are popular because they use a network to contain costs, but still allow some flexibility. In general, a covered person may leave the network if they accept less coverage. Of course, emergencies and some other limited situations will still provide full coverage. Make sure you check with your insurance company if you seek non-emergency coverage outside the network.

HSA plans work with a health savings account, and they allow a participant to make tax deductible contributions to an interest earning account. This account can be used to pay a higher deductible on health claims, and also for some other medical services. This is a good choice for good savers. The HSA money rolls over, so you never lose your contributions if you do not use them. Then, at Medicare age, you can withdraw the money without a penalty.

HMO plans use a nework, much like a PPO. The difference is that under most situations, they will not provide any coverage for non-network medical services. Of course, emergencies are generally covered. Certain medical services that are not provided by the HMO network may also be approved for coverage, but that needs to be authorized before seeking care.

In order to find the best health coverage for you, and your family, compare the available plans, and make sure you understand your policy. In my experience, people tend to be satisfied with their coverage when they understand it before they have to make a claim!

Coming from the opposite angle of plus size clothing, i.e. I am skinny and little, I can relate with the challenges of one's quest to get good fitting clothes. It is no disgrace to be rather portly. All the fashions show skinny girls ready to die of starvation, so why feel inferior!

I have found by experience that it can take a bit of hunting and research to find fashions to suit one need, but persistence will get you there in the end. The Internet is a great place to start. Many websites cater to plus size teen fashion clothing and use real size girl models instead of the usual size 4 girls. Plus-Size Juniors is a good term to search for. They offer styles found in the junior size department, but sized for teen sizes.

There are many styles of plus size teen fashion clothing. Thus various aspects need to be considered if choosing a plus size prom dress for instance. It is very important that the size is just right and that it feels comfortable, not too tight or to lose. Each designer has his own size chart so be ready with bust, waist and hip measurements, so your designer is not held up on detail.

Make sure you know your body type of the body: whether it is an A, E, round or hourglass. You can then make a decision upon the style including the color, material, and other design aspects. Most professional designers will help you in making these crucial decisions including the latest teen hair styles. Teen beauty treatment is also an important aspect to consider.

The most popular plus size prom dresses available up to size 44 are manufactured satin, sequined, vintage and of course the timeless little black dress. Also available in teen plus sizes are the halter, the hanky hems, the ruffles and lace and the traditional classical Cinderella ball gown.

Plus size teen prom dresses are can be found at most local professional dressmakers, hopefully within a few minutes' drive of you. The alternative is to go online. The Internet offers a vast amount of concepts, patterns galore, designs, colors and materials to choose from in teen plus sizes. Very often these online retailers offer a bigger range of choices than the traditional high street store.

Experimenting with plus size teen fashion can be great fun. Approval of apparel choices in the market is just some of the perks of being a teen, so make sure you enjoy yourself. You can use your time if you live in the country to travel to the city, make a party of it, its a great idea if you are looking for birthday party ideas for teens. The big cities offer plenty of specialty shops for the plus sized teenager.

Need is the mother of invention, a famous saying goes. Fashion should be both fun and functional. A plus size teen can have as much excitement on dressing up as his or her thinner counterpart does.

If you are tired of the clothes you wear? The country teen folk come up with great ways to expand their wardrobe and keep in style. They prove that you can be fashionable wherever you live. So drop any inhibitions you have about been a country dweller!

If visiting the city is a major challenge you can order a home catolog from large retail brands. That way you can be kept informed of the latest available plus size teen clothing design brands and conveniently place your orders by phone. A catalog company can be a great place to shop it is easy to return goods; they even pay for the postage of returned items. So mistakes are not penalised.

Not forgetting online shopping there are also a number of plus size teen fashion stores on the Internet catering to teenagers. You will find a wide variety and the internet is a great place to save money while getting a good choice of service. There are also exclusive designs to choose from.

So, in summing up let's hope you have a fruitful time in searching for your plus size teen fashion clothing hunt, good luck!

Buying Saunas. How And Where Do You Buy A Cheap Sauna?

A sauna is usually a pretty big investment. A good one no doubt at all, but not a cheap one. It's quite possible to find a cheap sauna, but everything is relative. Before you buy a sauna there's a few things you need to know.

You'll need to know what type you'll be buying. Spend some time researching the different types of sauna available, and make sure you've tried them out. You absolutely must decide whether you need a regular (hot rock or Finnish) or an infrared sauna. There's a big difference between the 2 and also a difference in what you pay. Some people swear by infared saunas as the newest thing in saunas, and others still prefer the old type, the hot rock sauna. It's essential that you spend some time trying out different types and comparing so that when you come to buy you'll get exactly what you want and need.

It's essential to work out what size of sauna you need. There are plenty of people who buy a large one for a crowd and never come close to filling it. There's no point in buying a sauna that will fit a football team when it's only you and your husband who will ever use it.

So before you buy work out who will be using it, and how many people will be in it at any one time. If it's just you and him, then don't waste your money on a sauna that's going to leave the both of you rattling around in it. And of course a big sauna is not a cheap sauna, the bigger the most expensive. So if you're looking for a cheap sauna go small.

Take your time and research the size that you'll need. Work out how much space you need for the number of people who will occupy it at any one time. If you're both overweight and looking to lose weight then you'll both probably need more space than 2 kids. Use you common sense when it comes to space. If you're looking for a cheap sauna then you'll probably want to spend some time looking at infrared saunas, as long as you like how they feel. And infrared can be a good choice for someone looking for a cheap sauna, and it's also possible to buy small portable infrared saunas, which are much cheaper than a fixed one.

You must know how your sauna is to be connected. There are all sorts of issues connected with electricity supply, plumbing where you'll be buying a wet sauna with a water supply where you'll need plumbing installed for supply and removal of water.

You'll also need to research space availability. Some saunas are quite large and will take up a lot of space, and often these are heavy users of plumbing and related resources, so make sure before you buy that you know exactly what size you need, where it will go and what resources it needs.

Are you a handyman? One of the best ways of getting a cheap sauna is to build it yourself. Of course you can build it from scratch but you really need to know what you're doing to build a sauna from scratch, but it's perfectly possible to buy a kit where you assemble it from pre made components. If you're looking to buy a cheap sauna this is a good option for some people who are confident with assembly.

For many the cost of a full blown hot rock (Finnish) sauna is too high. You can pay anywhere up to or well over $4000 for a good sauna, and although it might be a wonderful sauna it's beyond the resources of many. However there are a number of ways of sourcing good quality cheap saunas online that might surprise you. You can buy brand new saunas at well below retail if you know where to look and do your homework.

It takes a little longer but if you do the work to find a cheap sauna you can pocket the difference, or else buy a better one than you could afford if you bought at retail. It always pays to do some research. Find out what your requirements are then then look online for a cheap sauna and pocket the change.

Baby showers are also the time to pamper the moms-to-be. So if you are stumped with what to give for a baby who has yet to make an appearance, focus on the mom and dad. They'll lap up all the attention you'll shower on them with practical items like nifty bottle openers, key chains, votive candle holders, and scented bath oils.

Also, creative baby shower gifts do not mean you'll have to get stuck with so-so items that have been used to death, or the usual baby shower gifts that are beyond your budget.
Baby showers are loads of fun, and all you have to do is bring along one of those baby shower gifts that will make the mommy happy. But how do you get the perfect gift?

Baby Shower Gifts For the Mom

If you're in you're twenties, you're likely to be attending more weddings and baby showers. It's a lot easier to buy wedding gifts, but when it comes to the baby shower gifts, you want something special. Who doesn't? But the task can be daunting when you're looking at dozens of colorful baby gifts. You just don't know where to begin looking!

The problem is compounded when you have no baby experience whatsoever. Remember that you can also give the mom a gift to make her feel special, too. Ask your seasoned baby shower friends to help you pick out the gifts that is both practical for baby and mommy.

For the mom, scented bath salts with essential oils will make her feel like a queen when she soaks in the tub. These come in adorable glass heart bottles with dainty organza bows and different scents - jasmine, ocean, green tea, ivory, and white jasmine. You can also go for scented votive candles housed in frosted glass. Your friend can light these up for a relaxing "cuddle time" with her hubby.

Baby Gewgaws

Still, there is no excuse to forget the baby. You're going to a baby shower, so gifts for the baby should be in your agenda, too. When you get a call to hop to a friend's baby shower, don't just skedaddle to the nearest shop.

Make a mental list of the possible things your friend would need for her baby, but don't dismiss those fancy little gewgaws that can be added to the child's cherished collection such as baby jewelry engraved with the mom's name and the date of the baby shower.

Knowing the parents' lifestyles can help you decide on the gift. If they love to take long walks or nature tripping, how about a baby backpack? Or, if they both love to read, start the baby on a library of nursery rhymes and stories and complement it with a Nursery Rhyme Vintage Keepsake Book Box. That would really stop the moms and dads on their tracks.

Or, you could rally your friends to chip in for a more expensive item like a stroller, a crib, or a changing table. If you're getting baby furniture, go with your friends when getting something for the baby's room. You'll need to have it wrapped prettily (if possible) for the baby shower. Gifts that are gaily wrapped add a touch of glamor and fun to the party, so don't stint on gift-wrapping if you really want to make a statement.

Think Outside the Box

Don't stop at traditional gifts, though. Be creative! How about a compilation of baby recipes bound in a special cover and personalized with the mom's name, the occasion, and the date of the baby shower?

How about giving a gift certificate for both mom and dad to spend time at a spa? They need all the pampering they can get during this time. Waiting for the baby can be a taxing experience, so help them take it easy with creative baby shower gifts.

Family Notebook For Dad to Write

In today's world of computer speeds, web surfing and instant everything's, thoughts like "tradition", "family", and "morals" seem to be given over to times long gone by to the wayside. Our modern day world places much more value on DVD players, gossip, and food than on the foundation of our society: our values. Even worse, our Scandinavian heritage was intentionally lost so we might assimilate better into the American culture.

"Fifty years from now, it will not matter what my checking account was, the sort of car I drove to work, or the kind of clothes I wore... But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child." Unknown Author

I wanted to influence my child's life in a positive way. I feel I need to give him a foundation to know the great value of his own roots as a human being, to understand his own worth and beginnings. The problem was, I wasn't sure how to do that when I first found out I was going to be a father.

Then one day, my wonderful wife was talking to her high school friend, Nicki. Nicki told her of a unique idea she was doing for her three children, Kyle, Wendy, and Jenny. She had been keeping a notebook about their childhood, documenting the many things they did as they were growing up and discovering life. She said it was a craft she happily enjoyed all the time.

She said it was all too fun to whip out the notebook and browse through some older pieces with her family. She told us stories about how people are often amazed at things quoted from just a few months ago. People have short memories for their words when it comes to amusing quotes where the context is often forgotten. It's not unusual to hear her husband say, "Did I really say that, Nicki? Are you sure?" She says the children enjoy some of their father's reactions to his off handed and soon forgotten remarks.

My wife and I discussed the idea of having a notebook for our son, and we both decided it would be a great project to do. We took the direction in that I would be the one to maintain the collection, so soon after went out and purchased a quality for him from Barnes & Noble.

Right from the beginning, I found keeping tabs in his notebook to be a wonderful experience. I decided to keep my entries short and to the point. I wrote them like I was writing a memo or note to my son: one he would read many years from now.

The amazing part of it all is how much I can write in the notebook from taking a few minutes by myself in a very special place: the bathroom. Multitasking is a wonderful thing, if done correctly. The concept of using the bathroom for study was given to me by an old Navy Senior Chief many years ago. She told me her success was based on the fact that it was her daily study time that helped her advance so far in life. It's amusing how I've taken that concept and transformed it into a means of making a family treasure, and I would love to see others take the opportunity too.

Ask around where you can find quality items for babies at a bargain price to get the most out of your budget. Pick something reasonable like small baby accessories, and make sure to ask if they come in pink. Accessories are something girls of all ages can't get enough of. From hair accessories for baby girls to crib accessories to baby albums, it is guaranteed that your gift will be appreciated. Check out stores that specialize in infants for the latest line of baby accessories.

Toys! Toys! Toys!

Toys are definitely favorite baby shower gifts, but make sure the ones you pick are appropriate for the age of the recipient. Some toys might not be suitable for newborns, more so to a baby girl. Teddy bears can be an excellent toy of choice for a baby girl for the baby can appreciate it as she grows older. Make sure that the toys you are giving have no choking hazards or parts that come off to avoid accidents.

Although the baby might be too young to play with toys yet, they will certainly come in handy as the baby grows and learns to interact with her surroundings. Baby rattles are also a perfect toy for babies, but choose the more colorful ones because babies at this age can already recognize bright colors. And always remember that whatever gift you give will always be treasured if it is heartily given.

Trying to figure out what to get for your sister's twins be very daunting. Sure, you want to get extravagant and unique baby gifts to commemorate the joyous event. But then, at the back of your mind, you also want to get something practical, something that will be helpful to the new parents.

You know what they say about twins: "they're double the blessing, but also double the challenge." So what would you rather give? A unique baby gift that will impress, or a practical baby gift that will be much appreciated? Why not give something that will do both? The following is a list of practical and unique baby gifts that you can't go wrong with.

Offer to Help Out

This will not cost you a dollar, but you can be sure of its authenticity. Offers of help are definitely unique baby gifts in the sense that you cannot buy them on any baby store, or any other store, for that matter, not even for a thousand bucks!

Offer to babysit or run errands for a day so the parents can take time off for some much needed rest and relaxation. But be specific and sincere in your offer. Ask yourself how much time you can set aside for them and what exactly you can do, instead of what you just want to do for them. If you are not confident about your babysitting skills, do not take any chances. Just offer to cook dinner, or help with the laundry, instead. One thing to remember, though, when offering help to the new parents is to stay true to your word.

Diapers

Who would have thought diapers could be such great baby gifts? Ask the parents whether they prefer using cloth or disposable diapers, and then wrap up a few dozens. Diapers may not be fancy and all, but hey, they fall under the category of unique baby gifts. It is not often that new parents get to open a box of diapers!

Twin-themed Gift

Admit it. Twin-themed gifts are just adorable. Buy a pair of twin-themed baby items like frames, pillows, or clothes, and turn it into unique baby gifts by personalizing it with the babies' names, or even their time of arrival. You can also cook up witty slogans you can paint or engrave on your chosen items. A tip on buying clothes, though: ask the parents about the babies needs and sizes, so that your unique baby gifts will be useful.

Infant and Mommy Care Items

Buy a few practical items such as bath accessories, medicine dispensers, thermometers, diaper rash ointments, pain relievers, burp rags, and nail clippers. But before you wrap them up, get a few items for mom as well. She deserves to be celebrated just as much as the new babies are. So go ahead, throw in a couple of skin care items that the new mommy needs such as ultra-rich body lotions, facial creams, eye gel, body butter, and belly creams.

If you are willing to go the extra mile, get her a gift certificate to the beauty salon or to the spa. Make sure you hand it to her the same time you offer to babysit. Never mind getting her mommy guidebooks. With two babies to take care of, you know she would rather doze off when she can than read books.
